Supermarine Spitfire IX

The aircraft is a Mk V. Rebuilt to Mk IX, it served in the Royal danish Air Force as an instructional airframe. It has been rebuild to represent 401; the real one crashed. For several years it has been suspended from the roof of the Airmuseum in Billund without an engine. After the museum closed it has been moved to Stauning where "Dansk Veteranfly Samling" resides. They restored it once more (just lightly) and mounted an original style engine, a Merlin Mk 70.
